Tagus Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Aragonês 2005 Portugal available at Sainsbury,
The sole red in this week's selection represents what's good about modern Portuguese wines. Hailing from the modern Falua winery in the Ribatejo region, close to Lisbon, this is a blend of a traditional Portuguese variety, Aragonês, with international superstar Cabernet Sauvignon. The result is a rich, full flavoured red wine that combines modern fruitiness with a lovely traditional savoury streak - it still retains its ‘Portugueseness', which is a good thing. A total bargain
